The Tourism, Marketing & Events Grant assisted individual businesses and community groups with promotional activities.

How much grant was available?

For businesses, the grant funded eligible costs up to a maximum of 55% or £6,000 (whichever was the lower).
For community groups, the grant funded eligible costs up to a maximum of 70% or £3,000 (whichever was the lower)

Eligibility

Beneficiaries had to be based within the North West Devon LEADER+ area.

Provision of the grant resulted in at least one of the following:-

  1. Provide improvements to a tourist site - e.g. signing, village maps etc.
  2. Attract new visitors.
  3. Increase visitor spend.
  4. Support sustainable tourism initiatives.
  5. Create or secure employment.

Projects had to provide evidence of local support and demonstrate the need for funding. Applicants must not be eligible for any other existing EU funding.

Current Success Stories

The Tourism, Marketing & Events closed on the 31st December 2004. The amount of funding available was limited and as such applications were considered on a "first-come, first-served" basis. Businesses and Community Groups can only obtain one grant from the North West Devon LEADER+ programme.
